Blue Flower

Yes, yes, it's been a week. I have no excuse. I meant to blog, really. But it's been a little crazy. Sent my iBook in to Apple for repair last Tuesday. Got it back Friday am, it was the pmu daughter card. Then traded it into CompUSA for a 700mhz iBook with a combo drive on Sunday. Still loading software. Anyway, on to the good stuff:

Thanks to Tom over at BackupBrain for the link to this great site about Bush and his 'Bushisms'. Sorry, Mom, I don't write them or say them, I just link to them.

Wouldn't it be lovely? Reuter's has an article about Sun selling low-price linux pc's. And what's this about them giving away StarOffice to schools? Hmmm, start shaking Billy.

And finally, Reno concedes. You know, I've always enjoyed being a Floridian. But every time there's an election (even a local one) we somehow manage to embarass ourselves.

Speaking of politics, there's something I've been wanting to get off my proverbial chest about what's going on in that world lately. I'm gonna' get religious here, so look out. Why are we trying to legislate peace? We can't even bring about a lack of conflict. Peace has to be written on our hearts, not in legislation. Check out this piece on peace written, believe it or not, before 9.11.01. He says it much better than I could.

On a day like today, it's important to remember that God never allows things to happen for no reason at all. And so, due to popular demand, here's a story about a Shipwreck. I hope it helps you as much as it did us.

On a much, much, much lighter note. Dave Barry is campaigning for September 19th to be Talk Like a Pirate Day.

An update on Stan: He had his gallbladder removed Friday morning. Everything went well and he came home the next morning. He's sore, but healing. Thanks so much for your thoughts and prayers.

Way past naptime on Sunday, Kirsten was asking for a snack. She didn't want anything we had to offer, and was getting really grumpy. I told her she needed a nap. Her response was that she wasn't sleepy, she was hungry. We finally settled on some left-over cereal bar. I gave her the bar and she went into the living room with Grandma and Jacob. When I went into the living room a few minutes later, this is what I found.

I'm putting this link to Web Page Design for Designers here so I won't forget to check it out later. If you're interested in web design, especially CSS, you'll enjoy it.

I found a link on Backup Brain this morning on getting your happy face back in Jaguar. Don't think I'll try that any time soon, though.

I couldn't have said it any better myself. Web Designers take note!

I was so looking forward to this past weekend. A 3-day weekend, I could rest, relax, enjoy. So on the way home from work Friday, I stop to pick up the kids from daycare as usual. The second that I touch Jacob to pick him up from his crib, he starts screaming. And, you guessed it, he pretty much didn't stop for the whole weekend. Seriously, though, I think he's having some growing pains or something. The poor guy doesn't want to lie down, sit up, be held, be put down—nothing makes him happy. Hopefully he's doing better today. I haven't heard from daycare or anything.

Too bad we couldn't go to ConJosé this past weekend. Looks like my captain, Patrick Stewart, was there. Bummer.

Healthier food from McDonald's? My dream come true!

Harry Potter, look out. Maybe we can all have our own invisibility cloak soon.
