So here's the take. If I don't go into labor on my own before then, I have an appointment at the hospital at 1 am Tuesday morning to start an induction. So that means that Brian should be here Tuesday some time.
Knowing how much more painful inductions can be compared to doing things yourself (i.e. Kirsten vs. Jacob), I would greatly appreciate your sending up some prayers that I do go into labor myself before then.
Thanks.
Don yer' swords and hoist yer' jolly rogers, today be International Talk Like a Pirate Day. Aye, so smartly, me lads and lasses. Or else risk walkin' the plank! Arrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!!!!!!! Filthy land lubbers ye!
All the tickers have moved off the page, so I thought I'd bring a couple back. We are getting close now! These tickers are based on my actual due date of Oct. 8th. But as many of you already know, it doesn't look like we're going to make it much more than 2 more weeks. Maybe not even that long!

Unbelievable is the only word I can think of. Between the media and the rumors, we here in Florida have self-fulfilled the prophecy that there is a gas shortage. There really was no shortage until people started lining up last night in droves to fill up their tanks and as many empty gas cans as they could find lying around the house. It really is true the saying that a person can be smart, but a group of people are always idiots.
When I went to pick up the kids last night, their teachers warned me that I should fill up on the way home. When I asked why, they indicated that all of the gas stations would be shutting down the pumps at midnight and that they would remain off for 72 hours. Now, not that I think these people are liars. I don't. But there was no way that was true and I didn't hear it sitting in the middle of no less than 30 people who read the news all day, or listening to NPR on the way home. Sure enough, I go home to watch the news and there's not a word of it.
But the damage was already done. Many gas stations here in Central Florida are already tapped out awaiting deliveries later today. Not because of any real shortage, but because of these rumors and the media. And I for one am sick of it. I expect Stan to chime in later today. But I got this e-mail from a frustrated friend and just had to show it to you.
I heard about this, a bit late though. After getting home, we went out to dinner and we noticed everyone waiting in very long lines to get gas. Alisha had told me that there was supposed to be a shortage.Well, here I am, my car's very close to empty and ALL the stations by where I live are tapped out. I don't have enough gas to go looking around for a station that has gas anymore. Alisha has a bit more than I do so we're going to see if we can find gas for her tomorrow morning.
I've never seen so many panic stricken people in my life. This town (Central Florida) kills me!!

Gas RumorLong Gas Lines
A rumor is fueling panic among drivers, but the rumor is not true.
Cars are lined up across Central Florida to get gas because drivers think a fuel crisis is about to hit after Hurricane Katrina blew through Gulf.
One Hess station is now out of fuel because of the demand, but is expecting another shipment Thursday morning.
Again, there are rumors circulating that gas stations will shut down in Florida.
That is not the case, they are only rumors, but because of the rush some stations are running out of fuel with new shipments expected later this week and next .
If you know of a station that is price gauging, then please call 1-888-HELPFLA.
